Visitors to Turrell's Ganzfelds often have a parallel experience: without familiar visual markers, the entire apparatus of physical reality becomes unsteady. Curved corners make it difficult to discern where the floor ends and walls begin, and the back of the space sometimes seems to recede infintiely, without a vanishing point or horizon line to guide our sense of depth.
