Born in Aznalcóllar (Seville) in 1944, this singer had to leave school at an early age to help his father with the cattle. He learned his first flamenco songs from his mother. As time went on, he began to make his first public appearances as a singer. In 1971, La Cuadra invited him to participate in the show "Quejío", with which he toured various cities in Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland. Although he gradually gained public recognition (in 1980 he won the Soleá and Malagueña prizes at the National Flamenco Art Competition in Cordoba) and made several recordings, this versatile artist never gave up his work as a goatherd. In 1988 he starred in Béatrice Soulé's documentary 'El Cabrero, el cante de la sierra', which was broadcast by more than 40 television stations around the world.
