Concert by Efterklang & Metropole Orchestra, programmed in Holland Festival 2010.
Experimental Danish post-pop collective Efterklang released their debut album Tripper in 2004. With their second album Parades in 2007 they break through onto the international stage. Efterklang’s music is typified by a fairytale mix of folk, indierock, electronics and classical music, with references from the likes of Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Michael Nyman and Arcade Fire. After the release of Parades, the band was invited to do ‘something’ with The Danish National Chamber Orchestra, a ‘something’ that culminated in a huge project where Parades was rearranged for a 50 piece orchestra and played live from start to end. It’s an instant, runaway success, that now transfers to the Holland Festival in a performance with the Dutch Metropole Orchestra.
