The figurative current of his public work has been giving way in recent years to abstract forms in which he uses the technique of wood carving or assembly, as seen in Personalidad (Personality), a structure composed of blocks of rustic-looking cedar and unequal strata, built with balanced loads. The piece, property of the MUSA (Museum of the Arts of the University of Guadalajara) since 2006, dispenses of the external reality to represent a symbolic figure of totemic reminiscences.
