高松次郎 Jiro Takamatsu (1936~1998)
A native of Tokyo. From the 1950s to the early ’60s, Takamatsu produced avant-garde artworks and organized happenings and performances. In the late ’60s, he started a series of works that asked the awareness of extraterrestrials via vision (or visual sensation), influencing the onset of the ‘Mono-ha’ movement. In the late ’60s, Takamatsu produced prints, while in the early ’70s he made works that asked the concept of print, for which he received considerable attention.
