This 1977 collage by Penelope Slinger is part of a series of collages in which the architecture of an abandoned gothic mansion is measured by its relationship to Slinger’s body. Slinger states that at the time that she made these works ‘women in art were generally seen through a man’s eyes. This was about women looking at women.’ Perspective was selected by artists Jane & Louise Wilson for the 2014 Hayward Gallery exhibition History Is Now: 7 Artists Take On Britain, curated by seven British artists.
