Helen Geier is a nationally significant artist living in the Canberra region and has been a senior lecturer at the School of Art, NITA, ANU. She has been the recipient of a number of awards including the Canberra Times Artist of the Year in 1997. She has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and overseas including France, England, Korea, India and Singapore.
The painting Perspective Views is a large diptych that is indicative of the artist’s motifs and conceptual concerns with the depiction of space. The artist has created layers of meaning in the paintings fractured and intricately painted surface which vibrates with a diverse range of marks and paint applications to reveal a cross-cultural view of landscape.
