Perspective is not only a scientific viewing method, as it also functions as a thinking framework. For people who live with a fast-paced, modern life, perspective viewing (to look through) becomes a life style as people feel their lives are exposed in other people’s sights ubiquitously at any moment. It is not only a complicated, inhospitable visual challenge, but also a psychological challenge. Moreover, it also results in a deeper panic when we observe the world using this perspective viewing method.
On the other hand, a desire to gain insights towards one’s internal mind is crystallized in the admiration of transparency. A transparent personal character and a transparent management system of companies have gained praise for the honesty. While disguise and metaphor become daily costumes of our culture, a “transparent” body is easily hurt. The people who are forced to be transparent are deprived of their dignity. In this work, the artist has intentionally made his performance and objects transparent, insisting on revealing the underneath truth, which cannot be achieved with high-tech perspective machines.
