Pestilence in Florence

The drawing is inspired by the Florentine pestilence described by Boccaccio in the introduction to day I Of The 'Decameron'. After the war Renzo Vespignani is one of the exponents of the second generation 'realist', he joins the group of 'realism' and 'Portonaccio', dealing with urban subjects (factories and city suburbs).
