Known as shagna waali phatti, this low seat is part of a set of vernacular furniture along with a pidhi (low chair). The phatti is used on occasion of the haldi, a wedding ritual where turmeric paste is applied on the bride and groom. Either or both of whom are made to sit on the pidhi while resting their feet on the phatti.
