Silver snuff box given by Lieutenant James Grant to Governor Philip Gidley King on the occasion of King George III's birthday, June 4th 1801.

Silver snuffbox with elaborate engraved monogram ("PGK") on hinged lid, and engraving ("LT. GRANT / To / GOVERNOR KING / JUNE 4 1801") on underside of lid. There are stamped marks on the underside of the lid, which are repeated on the inside base.
