Lauro Barbosa da Silva Moreira, born in Goiás, Brazil, in 1940. In 2009, when crowning his long Diplomat Career as Ambassador of Brazil to the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries - CPLP, in Lisbon, Lauro Moreira was honored by the International Movement Lusophone with the title of Lusophone Personality of the Year. In 2011 he received a special tribute from the Municipality of Odivelas, where a permanent plaque was inaugurated, in a public place, distinguishing him with the title of Prince of Lusophone. Elected in 2016 President of the Directive Council of the Observatory of the Portuguese Language.
