Clyde Morgan is an African American artist, choreographer, dancer, and educator who became a central figure in the Afro-Brazilian dance scene, especially in Bahia. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he graduated in History from Cleveland State University in 1963 and further developed his dance skills at Bennington College and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York.
Morgan arrived in Brazil in the 1970s and settled in Salvador, where he became deeply involved with Afro-Brazilian culture.
