Black and white photograph is of Harold LeClair Ickes during his tenure (1933-1946) as the 32nd Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior. The photograph is autographed "Harold L. Ickes" in the lower right hand corner in faded pen and partly underlined as a flourish. Ickes is shown from the chest up in a three-quarter pose. He is wearing round, rimless glasses and a dark suit with a white shirt and dark tie.
