Historical black and white photograph of Keliiponi Hale / Coronation Pavilion in front of Iolani Palace for the coronation ceremony of King Kalakaua and Queen Kapiolani on February 12, 1883. Foreign coat of arms, garlands of greenery and bunting decorate the scene. Members of secret and benevolent societies align the walkway from the Palace lanai to the pavilion holding kahili (royal feather standards). In the foreground are members of the Royal Guard and the Royal Hawaiian Band dressed in uniform.
