After the bankruptcy of the American Telegraphone Company, its former sales representative H. P. O'Reilly founded the Record-O-Phone Company in 1924. Meanwhile, amplifiers were developed that solved the issue of low volume, meaning the hope of using magnetic sound recording could now become a reality.
