Photograph taken in 1949 in U.S. Senator Smith's new home. She is sitting with Architect Alonzo Harriman who was responsible for the construction of her home here in Skowhegan. She had designed it herself but Mr. Harriman kindly offered to do the fine tuning, blueprints, and construction.
