As automotive companies didn’t have a suitable electric vehicle tailored to the needs of the post office, the Deutsche Post DHL Group took over StreetScooter GmbH as an associate in 2014, and now manufactures its own electric delivery vehicles, which will also be mass produced. Since 2016, post offices in Stuttgart have been gradually converting their parcel delivery force to electric vehicles, which in the medium term will include the entire fleet of vehicles.
