Although invented during the 1920s, Foosball, which is sometimes called "table football," enjoyed increased popularity during the latter decades of the twentieth century. In the 1970s, foosball tables appeared in college student unions as well as other public gathering places. In the intervening years, the game became more and more commonly enjoyed at home as well, on increasingly professional-type foosball tables. Clothing and hairstyles help date this home snapshot to about the year 1980.
