Photographic Subject(s): Zeenat Aman is an Indian actress, model and beauty pageant winner best known for her work in Hindi films during the 1970s and 1980s. She was the first South Asian woman to won the Miss Asia Pacific title in 1970. Chosen as a last-minute replacement in the film Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971), Zeenat Aman's rendition of Janice aided by the track Dum Maro Dum, quickly catapaulted her into film stardom; and she appeared on the cover of every leading film magazine in the 1970s from Stardust to the launch issue of Cineblitz. Considered as a sex symbol, Aman, along with Parveen Babi, is credited with making a lasting impact on the image of Bollywood's leading actresses by presenting a new modern, Westernised femininity. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award during the Zee Cine Awards function in 2008 as a recognition of her contribution to Hindi Cinema, as well as An Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema award at IIFA awards in 2010.
