Photographic lobby still for the Hindi film 'Pehli Jhalak' (First Glimpse), released in the
year 1955.

The still shows a scene from the song 'Humdard Jo Banta Hai' (check translation), sung
by Lata Mangeshkar. The song features lead character Beena (Vyjayanthimala) in a
three quarter length view. She is dressed in the traditional style of Kathak dancers,
with a kurta, a dupatta and beautiful jewellery. In the frame, her left hand is held out
on her side, and the right hand is held over her forehead in a melancholic expression.
Her head is tilted slightly backwards and her eyes are closed, with the overall emotion
of despair/disappointment.
On the bottom border, the credits are in the following manner. Starting from left to right,
first comes 'Jagat Pictures' and 'PRESENT' written right under it. Next to this is the
name of the film 'PEHLI JHALAK' (English) followed by "DIRECTOR' and "M.V. RAMAN'
mentioned right under it.
