Photographic lobby still for the Hindi film 'Shree 420' (translation: Mr. 420), released in the year 1955.
The still shows a frame from another iconic song 'Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh' (Don't keep turning and looking- check), sung by Asha Bhosle and Manna Dey. The still shows a wide-angle shot of a high-society Diwali party held at a big hotel. In the bakcground, lots of spectators are standing against the backdrop of a beautifully decorated interior space. In the foreground, there are female dancers dressed in big white dresses, arranged in a circle. In the centre of the circle is the character Maya (Nadira), holding a dance pose. On the bottom border are the credits for the film. First comes the film's name in an interesting composition. Aligned to the bottom left corner is '420' in a big bold typeface wich overlaps with the printed area of the image. The word 'SHREE' is written within the number '4'. There is an illustration of two human figures (possibly Nargis' character Vidya and Raj Kapoor's character Ranbir Raj) placed within the number '2'. Under this is 'DIRECTED BY' with 'RAJ KAPOOR' written next to it.
