  • Photographic Subject(s): Lalita Pawar was a prolific Indian actress, who later became famous as a character actress, appearing in over 700 films in Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati cinema, where she gave hits like, Netaji Palkar, Sant Damaji, Amrit, Gora Kumbhar. She is also remembered for her roles in the Hindi films Anari , Shri 420 and Mr & Mrs 55, as well as the role of Manthara, in Ramanand Sagar's television epic serial, Ramayan. Sulochana Latkar, known largely by her screen name Sulochana, is a well-known actress of Marathi and Hindi cinema. Known for her remarkable work in about 250 Marathi films, like Vahinichya Bangdya, Meeth Bhakar and Dhakti Jau; she is better remembered in Hindi cinema as epitomising the qunitessential Indian mother in the 1970s and the early 1980s. She is the recepient of the Chitrabhushan Award, the Maharashtra Bhushan Award and the Padma Shri.
