Portrait of pianist Priscilla Kennedy.
In the post-World War II years, photographer Max Dupain was commissioned by the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) to take portraits of various personalities. The ABC actively promoted its studio orchestras in each state, as well as the many international musicians it supported on tours to Australia. Dupain was commissioned to photograph these personalities so that images could be used for concert publicity and promotional material such as posters, programs, brochures, newspaper advertisements, articles and reviews.
