A Pichwai for Nandmahotsava or Janmashtami, depicting a central figure of Shrinathji upon an altar, flanked by two gossainjis (priests). To the bottom Nanda and Yashodha are depicted rocking the new born Navneetpriyaji (infant Krishna) housed in a golden cradle. The sides and top are banded with additional small images of Srinathji swarupas (forms) flanked by devotees.

The Nanda Mahotstava festival is celebrated a day after the Janamashtami, or the occasion of Krishna's birthday, as commemorating the celebration in the home of Nandaraya and Yashoda, Krishna's foster parents. Pichwais of this kind depicts the enactment of the event by the priests, the temple staff and the Tilakayat.
