The Pichwai depicting Daan Leela or the 'festival of the toll' in which Shrinathji’s exacts a toll from the gopis of Vraj as they go out to sell their milk, curd and butter. Whereas some pichwais depict the enactment of the gopis sharing milk with Krishna and gopas, this pichwai only suggests the event, with Shrinathji being approached by gopis.
A very large pichwai depicting Krishna draped in jewelled garlands, surrounded by two lines of four gopis each, carrying jars of milk and curd above their heads – all standing in a lush tree filled garden populated with various birds and animals and a background of flowering lotuses. The upper register contains various deities in golden chariots centred by the Surya (sun god), while the lower register features a herd of cows with cowherds on the banks of a lotus filled pond. The outer border is decorated with running motifs of pink roses with lush green leaves.
