A pichwai depicting Daan Leela or the 'festival of the toll' in which Shrinathji’s exacts a toll from the gopis of Vraj as they go out to sell their milk, curd and butter. Whereas some pichwais depict the enactment of the gopis sharing milk with Krishna and gopas, this pichwai only suggests the event, with Shrinathji being approached by gopis.
At the centre, is the Shrinathji idol set within a small shrine placed in a lush garden setting and flanked by two gopis to either side carrying pots of milk and curd. In the sky above, fly various deities in golden chariots centred by an image of Surya (the sun god). Below, various gopis and male devotees surround additional images of Krishna idols in a temple garden setting, themselves placed above a row of cows. The central panel is surrounded on three sides by images of various forms of Shrinathji attended to by devotees, each image individually labelled in Devanagiri script. The entire composition framed by a floral border.
