This piece by Katsushika Hokusai, a famous ukiyo-e woodblock print artist, shows two turtles and two koi carp in water. Algae, in a shade of indigo, are depicted to add depth. On the left-hand corner of the print is Hokusai's treasured name seal, which was passed down to his apprentice in 1813. This is a valuable piece for learning more about Hokusai's works.
