Pidhirtsi Castle

"Pidhirtsi Castle is located in the village of Pidhirtsi, Lviv region. It was built in the middle of the XVII century in the Renaissance style. The project of the castle was executed by renowned masters of their craft: the Italian architect Andrea del Aqua designed the palace, and the military engineer and cartographer Guillaume de Beauplan was responsible for the fortification. An interesting detail – the Atlanteans on the roof. One of them holds the Earth above his head, and the other – the universe."
