Pierre Fouche is an artist who has also trained in lace making. This is the technique used in the work shown. The 6.4 metre long lace scribes in morse code a fragment of poetry by novelist and explorer Crosbie Garstin, "The ballad of the Royal Ann", which tells the story of a sailor seduced by the sea. Drawn by the sea's wet lips and green hair, the sailor eventually gives in and drowns.
