Siena, Italy

The paint is an amazing Pietà with saint John the Evangelist and the Magdalene. The alterpiece, still in its original carved wood frame, is from the old chapel of the Bishop Palace of Colle di Val d'Elsa and shows the coat of arms of its commissioner, Usimbardo Usimbardi, the first bishop of the city who held the office from 1592 to 1612.The painting reflects the sweet Venetian intonation and a particularly attention in expressing moving moods.
