Pillar after restoration

The original method of gold gilding using 24 carat gold had been employed for the first time in the city. Master craftsmen from Vasai were employed for the first time on a building, and a dying art has been revived and is again thriving in the city. The gilders come from a family of artists that have been making and gilding church statues for generations. The columns were gilded judiciously and the delicate fresco paintings which had been erased were painted.
