"Pintura de modelo vivo" by Antonio de Padua Dutra was one of the works carried out during the artist's evaluation to obtain the prize "Artistic Improvement", a scholarship that enabled the young person to improve in Europe at some fine arts academy. For this same evaluation, Paiva Dutra made a bust and plaster design, another one of an architectural piece, a feminine academy and a free composition. In this work, of few elements and colors, the artist emphasizes only the feminine form during the pose proposed for the evaluation: the face of the model, the well defined contours and the gradations between the tones. The pose is demure and the cut at the height of the hips strongly refers to the portraits, also by the color used in the background.
