Cocktail Dress (2-piece) with Coat; scissor dress of navy blue velvet and matching satin with coat of a lighter blue satin. Called "Pizanelle" Bodice (a), boned and fitted - camisole styled - made of the velvet with an inner bodice of the satin a quarter inch exposed at the top; straps of velvet attached to inner bodice; left side hook and eye closing on the velvet top and center back hook and eye closing on the matching taffeta foundation; the taffeta peplum attached to bodice is worn inside the skirt. Skirt (b) consists of a tubular underskirt of velvet with a side back slit which is concealed by a velvet overdrape and scissors drape on the left front side which is made of lined and padded navy blue satin; an attached belt lined with velvet ends in two very wide loops which hook at the waistband at the top of the scissors drape; concealed left side front zipper closing; tubular skirt is lined with black satin. Coat (c) is of a lighter hue than the dress, but is still almost a midnight blue; it is cut on voluminous lines with inverted pleat at center back falling from just below the neckline which is cut up to form a short standing collar effect; wings over the full three-quarter length sleeves are almost cape-like; sleeves are held in at the bottom with wide box pleats; self fabric lined; inner lining adds to its body and stiffness; no fasteners. Handbag (d) of navy blue satin with horizontal folds. The clasp which extends across the top covered with half a cylinder of polychrome sealing wax design of plastic. Lined with matching satin with two pockets.
