The film produces a fictional narrative of the life of Piyoli Phukan, the son Badan Borphukan from Assam. It takes the narrative to the first half of 19th century when a bitter struggle was waged between Indian aristocracy and the East India Company.

  • Story: Piyoli on crutch was the first to organise a peoples' uprising against the British after the Treaty of Yandabo which ceded Assam to them. Piyoli planned to blow up a British armoury. After a farcical trial, Piyoli was hanged on July 26 1830. The film interestingly blends Assamese nationalism with a pan-Indian patriotic impulse.
