Seoul, South Korea

This is the oldest existing white porcelain jar from Joseon Dynasty. It is characterized by the high finial on the lid, laterally broad body, wide mouth, and nine loops on the lid and body to tie strings. The placenta jar of King Taejong did not have any loop to tie strings. This jar shows the appearance of early placenta jars before they became more refined.
