Poster "JOB"

Alphonse Mucha1898

Bröhan-Museum

Bröhan-Museum
Berlin, Germany

The woman is the centre of Alfons Mucha's posters. With her long hair that surrounds her body, which was mockingly called macaroni even in his lifetime, she was supposed to entice people to consume.

On this poster, the woman is still holding the box of cigarette papers in her hand while she is already smoking the self-rolled cigarette. The cigarette paper brand JOB advertised its products in this way. Typical for Mucha's posters is the circle behind his figures.
