A third state copy of Bellin's engraved plan of New Orleans with contemporary hand coloring, separated from his 1764 Le Petit Atlas Maritime. The plan shows the port and town of New Orleans on the Mississippi River, based on earlier manuscript plans in the cartographic archives of the French Navy. It depicts public and private structures, lots, streets, squares, and fortifications, as well as a scale in French toises, and a compass rose. The names of Conti and St. Louis streets are transposed in error. 18 specific features shown in the plan are lettered and keyed for identification. The plan is plate number 45 from book one.
