Plan of Park System from Common to Franklin Park

The design of Boston's "Emerald Necklace" was one of the first large-scale citywide efforts at planning a system of parks in the country. This lithograph shows the breadth of the work involved, including the Back Bay Fens, the Muddy River, Leverett Park, the Arborway, Jamaica Pond, the Arboretum, and ultimately commencing at Franklin Park.
