A circular porcelain plaque, painted with stems of flag irises and leaves in underglaze blue, purple, yellow, and green on a pale ground. The highly naturalistic style of depiction of the flower is most unusual and displays a strong Western influence. This is all the more extraordinary in that the depiction of the flowers is entirely sprayed through stencils, and quite without the use of the brush.
