Belgrade, Serbia

The museum in Kladovo houses a full-scale plaster cast of the panel from Trajan’s Column in Rome, which shows the only ancient representation in sculpted relief of Trajan’s Danube bridge. The scene is one of Emperor Trajan sacrificing to the war god Mars, with the bridge clearly shown in the background with its wooden superstructure and masonry piers.
