Calder Kanin's exhibit Plastic Planet tackles the omnipresence of plastic in today's world, which has incorporated itself into all bodies of living things. Through creating a whimsical menagerie of colorful animals made of plastic bags, Kanin's playfully rendered animals point suggest an ominous reality. Deer can be interpreted as symbols for prospariety, continuation, food, and abundence; like kamins sculpture of our fox
friend, this too could be an optimistic message about natures persurverance through pollution.
