Plate 11 of a series of 23 prints featuring monkeys acting as humans in various figural scenes. Figure of a monkey in gentleman's clothing at center kneels upon a stool with an upholstered cushion before a canvas on an easel. He holds an artist's palette and applies a paintbrush to it. At left, another monkey in a hat rolls out a section of clay upon a flat surface at the top of a barrel. A jug and bucket appear at lower left.
