Image copy of Angelica Kaufman’s (1741-1807) work “The Three Graces”. The Graces or Charites (from Greek mythology) – Aglaia (the brilliant), Euphrosyne (she who rejoices the heart) and Thalia (she who brought flowers) – are symbolic images expressing the beauty and youthful comeliness of women and their task was to bring joy to people. The divinities are shown as three young and beautiful women with a mountainous landscape in the background. The image is enclosed in a richly decorated gold and polychromatic rim.
