This is an example of the ceramics attributed to the Mexicas of Tenochtitlan (Aztec III), made with compact and thin clay, decorated with symbolic and geometric designs. This delicate flat bottom dish has intricate designs with thin lines achieved by fine even lines and superimposed series of bands with geometric designs, among which stand out concentric circles, beads, points, friezes and, in the center, there is the image of a fantastic bird that resembles a cojolita (a kind of pheasant) and a macaw, surrounded by glyphs related to the Sun as the very image of the star in the shape of a flower, and the four circles that symbolize the tonalli or solar heat.
