A number of figures wearing stockings, breeches and brimmed hats are playing cricket, and several others are watching. Beyond the playing field is a river and beyond that Windsor Castle. The scene is surrounded by an elaborate blue foliage border. A metal support has been fixed around the back of the plate. A scroll on the reverse contains the text "METROPOLITAN SCENERY / WINDSOR CASTLE".
