The platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) is the only species from the family of the Ornithorhynchidae. It can reach a size up to 60 cm. Its main characteristics are the birdlike bill as well as the webbed feet. It is living in the east of Australia, including Tasmania. It is mostly hunting insects, snails and crustacean.
