In the 1970s, the electronics giant Radio Shack offered a number of kits to teach kids about electronics and related sciences. Among the Science Fair sets it sold were lie detector kits, police monitors, shortwave radios, adjustable strobe light, and an electronic organ. It also offered this 100 in 1 Electronic Project Kit complete with a huge manual of instructions for conducting all 100 projects, which included making a strobelight, audible bird, sound effects generator, siren, rain detector, burglar alarm, phonograph amplifier, and door buzzer, and 91 others.
