Jim Henson began his television career in the 1950s and first introduced Kermit the Frog in 1958. Throughout the 60s, Henson's muppets made many television appearances but it wasn't until the introduction of The Muppet Show in 1976 did they really become a success. Many featured films and television shows, such as Fraggle Rock, Sesame Street, and Dinosaurs, were explored by Henson. His passing in 1990 has not stopped the popularity of the muppets, his imagination and artistry lives on in the Jim Henson Legacy.
