A. G. Spalding & Bros. Inc. purchased the Tinker Toy company in 1952 and continued manufacturing the construction sets in Evanston, Illinois. The company, known for its line of sporting goods, offered a variety of construction sets through the 1950s and 1960s. In early 1969, Spauling was acquired by Questor Corporation, and the Tinker Toy Division, along with Spalding became part of Questor's Child Guidance Division. Spalding made the Toy Maker set from 1963 to 1970 in three different sizes. The plastic snap-together parts made cars, boats, buggies, tractors, and other vehicles of a child's imagination.
